There are few localities that change their political sign. For the most part, this weekend the neighbors elected the same mayors.
But La Calera gave the big surprise. It is one of the localities that grew the most located in the department of Colón.
Fernando Rambaldi, the candidate of the Juntos por La Calera coalition — made up of Encuentro Vecinal, Frente Cívico, UCR and CC — ousted the current mayor, Facundo Rufeil, of Hacemos por Córdoba, who was seeking re-election. But also to his Gastón Morán from Unidos Hacemos por La Calera, another Justicialista faction that was accompanied by another Rufeill, Rodrigo, a Cordovan legislator.
This result has been considered a “bump”, given the historical strength of Peronism in the region.
Rambaldi, the elected mayor, attributed the victory to “a new way of doing politics.”
“It was decisive – the division of the PJ – but despite the enormous apparatus set up to overturn the election, honest politics prevailed. It is the triumph of all of La Calera,” he stressed.
