The holy month of Ramadan..or our master Ramadan, as Moroccans like to call it, although it has a distinguished position in all Arab and Islamic countries, but it is characterized by rituals and an atmosphere specific to Morocco that confirms the great status of this month in the hearts of Moroccans, as preparations begin two months before it arrives to buy home supplies from time to time And foodstuffs, spices, and others to prepare Ramadan meals and foods that Morocco is unique to other countries.
Perhaps the first thing that concerns the majority of Moroccans with the advent of the holy month is to supply the necessary foodstuffs for this month, as popular and modern markets know an unparalleled turnout by citizens with the aim of shopping for the necessary goods to prepare dishes and breakfast meals.
These markets are known for the flow of a large number of commodities that are usually of high quality, whether they are manufactured or agricultural, such as vegetables, fruits, dates, then meat of various kinds: red and white, and fish, which becomes highly demanded during the month of fasting.
Ramadan sweets have an important presence in the Moroccan table, as there are dates, baghrir, sufuf, and chebakia sweets, which remain essential in breakfast tables, regardless of the standard of living of families, as almost no home is devoid of them, whether in cities or villages, as they are a nutritional supplement and substitute for sugars that the body needs following fasting.
The month of Ramadan is one of the most beautiful months and the greatest in status for Muslims, and it remains the most beautiful month among the months of the entire Hijri year, in which we live in wonderful rituals of fasting and worship.
