The national airline Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is an executive arm in the framework of strengthening cooperation between Morocco and Egypt, said the Ambassador of Morocco to Egypt, permanent representative of the Kingdom to the Arab League, Ahmad Tazi.
Speaking at a ceremony recently organized by the RAM Regional Office in Cairo, the Moroccan diplomat noted that the national airline has achieved enormous success in a difficult global situation, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, recalling that RAM was the only African company to bring African countries out of their isolation during the Ebola epidemic by maintaining its flights to many countries on the continent despite this pandemic.
The company also succeeded during the Covid pandemic and during the post-pandemic period to resist, despite the tough competition at the global level in the air transport sector, once morest giant companies enjoying significant means, he underlined. during this reception marked in particular by the presence of the director of sales of RAM for the Middle East and the Arab Maghreb, Hassan Benbrahim.
For his part, the director of the RAM regional office in Cairo, Mustapha Settachi, underlined that the Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the tourism sector and in particular on the air transport sector, noting that the health crisis forced companies to reduce the number of their flights.
Mr. Settachi also praised the sacrifices of RAM employees as well as travel agencies during this health crisis, noting that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) predicts that the return to the activity levels of before 2019 will not be done before 2023.
The ceremony was an opportunity to review the achievements of the RAM Office in Cairo, present the new products of the national company and pay tribute to Egyptian travel agencies and tourist operators who have achieved high rates within the framework cooperation with RAM.
Similarly, the efforts of the Regional Office of RAM in the development of its services were presented in the light of the orientations of the national airline, as well as the support mechanisms for the activity of air transport between Egypt and the Morocco.
