Ralph Macchio’s eternal youth: new season of Cobra Kai, almost 40 years of marriage to Phyllis Fierro and a daughter who is also an actress

The first part of the series has just arrived on Netflix. the sixth and final season of Cobra Kai (this installment will have two other batches that will be released between this year and next), the acclaimed series that acts, several decades later, as a continuation of the original film saga of Karate Kid.

It features, as everyone who has seen it knows, a new generation of young actors led by Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan and Mary Mouserbut also with the original protagonist, Ralph Macchio, reprising his role as Daniel LaRusso and William Zabka once again playing his former rival Johnny Lawrence, among others.

For Macchio (Huntington, New York, 1961) this series has meant a second youth in terms of popularity (the truth is that it is almost impossible to guess from his appearance and good physical shape that he is already 62 years old), even though he has never stopped working in film and television since he became known in the early 80s in the iconic Rebels by Francis Ford Coppola, alongside a great cast of actors such as Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon o Patrick Swayze.

Unlike these, however, it did not manage to maintain the notoriety it achieved in that decade, but it has also always been characterized by Prioritize his family, which he considers his “greatest achievement” and with whom he lives in his native state of New York, far from Hollywood.

His love story with his wife, Phyllis Fierrois also atypical for a movie star, especially in terms of its longevity: They have been married for 37 yearssince 1987, and she was never part of the industry as she is a nurse by profession. And although Macchio rose to popularity at a very young age, shortly after entering her twenties, they met even earlier, when they were only 15 years old and at a birthday party held in the basement of his grandmother’s house.
