Four people were knocked down by a racing car during the Rallye de la Famenne which was held on Sunday in the Marche-en-Famenne region, several local media report.

Sunday morning around 11:30 a.m., a competition car mowed down four spectators near Ambly, in the town of Nassogne. The four victims were knocked down when they were at the end of the escape zone, the organizers said in a press release.

Injured, they were transported by ambulance to the hospital. Their vital prognosis is not engaged, continue the organizers, specifying that the crew of the car had not been injured.

Momentarily interrupted, the race resumed around 2:20 p.m. “with the agreements of the municipal authorities”, underlines the press release. The organizers took advantage of this by recalling and reinforcing the safety instructions for spectators, ensuring that “the race will be canceled and the special neutralized” in the event of non-compliance with the instructions in question.
