New Delhi: Veteran Tov Ghulam Nabi Azad, who left the Congress, will start his new political career today. It is suggested that the formation of the new party will be announced at a rally to be organized in Jammu today.
The rally in Jammu is the first public event that Azad will participate in after leaving the Congress. Gula Nabi Azad is expected to announce his future plans in the rally. A week ago, Azad resigned from the Congress after strongly criticizing the Gandhi family in the Congress.
Ghulam Nabi had said last week that the new party would be announced soon. He also said that the first unit will be in Jammu and Kashmir where the elections are coming up.
The way ahead for Azad is to form an alliance with any party like National Conference, PDP and BJP in Jammu and Kashmir. But Azad said that the question of an alliance with the BJP is out of the question. Such an alliance would not benefit them and me, he said.
