Rajasthan Royals beat Chennai Super Kings by five wickets to advance to the IPL play-offs. Rajasthan will take on Gujarat Titans in the first qualifier on March 24. Rajasthan finished second behind Lucknow Super Giants in run rate.
Batting first, Chennai scored 150 for six. In reply, Rajasthan won with two balls to spare. Yashaswi Jaiswal (59 off 44 balls) and R Ashwin (40 * off 23 balls) were the main contributors for Rajasthan. Moin Ali’s solo performance gave Chennai a better score. Moin Ali hit 93 off 47 balls. Chennai were bowled out by Chennai in the first over. He was three for the first two overs. In the next four overs, Chennai scored 72. But in the last 14 overs, they managed to score only 75 runs.
Moin’s innings included three sixes and 13 fours.
Obed McCoy, who took two wickets for just 20 runs in four overs, shone for the Rajasthan bowlers. Yush-Vendra Chahal also shone with two wickets.
