Rainy Weather Woes: Challenges Faced by Outdoor Workers and Nurserymen in Neufchâteau

The significant amounts of rain that fell during the month of November make working conditions difficult for people working outdoors. This is the case for workers: construction sites are falling behind schedule due to the very muddy terrain on which they have to work.

And another profession is facing big difficulties this year in particular: nurserymen, who have a lot of work at the moment.

As customers begin to purchase their Christmas trees, their nursery faces particularly chaotic conditions. This is evidenced by these images sent by Jonathan Rigaux, nurseryman in Neufchâteau, and president of the Ardennes Union of Nurserymen. His field of fir trees is completely flooded.

We can see his tractor pulling a trailer loaded with dozens of fir trees which finds itself stuck in the mud. The tractor wheels, half submerged, are completely slipping. The use of construction equipment equipped with tracks was necessary to pull the tractor and its trailer out of the pond.

In Neufchâteau, where the snow has already fallen, weather conditions are expected to be drier in the coming days.
