Rains cause flooding and rivers to rise in Sucre

The rains generated by the passage of tropical wave 28 through the state of Sucre have caused rivers and streams to overflow, according to images from local reports.

The flooding of the Guatapanare River, as well as several streams in the Valdez municipality, were reported this Saturday afternoon by journalist Emilys Velásquez.

Valle Verde, La Frontera, Barrio Ajuro and Nueva Güiria have been the closest areas.In the Mariño municipality, the rise of the Bautista River and the Salado River was reportedas well as the Guarama and Yoco ravines.

These floods have caused significant damage to homes in this area of ​​the Paria Axis, leaving many families in a vulnerable situation.

The Montes municipality, which had already been affected by the overflow of the Manzanares River in July of this year, has also experienced an increase in the river flow levels.This situation has affected areas such as Las Trincheras and La Peña, where flooding has caused havoc to local infrastructure.
