Temporary efforts to dry the concrete one-mile oval with Air-Titans failed as more rain pressed in. There are no floodlights in Dover. And because the red flag had come out before halfway through the distance, the race resumes on Monday.

First poles for Chris Buescher and RFK Racing
In qualifying on Saturday, Chris Buescher (RFK-Ford) took pole. It was the first pole for both himself and the current formation of the Roush team. Main team owner Jack Roush has had countless successes in the past.
But since Brad Keselowski came on board in the winter and took over shares in the Roush team, Buescher’s pole means his first major success in qualifying. In terms of race trim, the RFK duo Keselowski/Buescher had particularly impressed in the duels in Daytona.
In Dover, Buescher led until the first yellow phase on Sunday – a competition caution announced for lap 40. At the pit stop, Denny Hamlin (Gibbs-Toyota) was dispatched the quickest. He led the field until the second yellow phase. This came out after 52 laps due to the first raindrops.
Kyle Larson leads Monday’s restart
36 laps were still possible, but not more. With Hamlin coming straight back into the pits in the second yellow period, Kyle Larson (Hendrick-Chevrolet) took the lead as he stayed behind.
At the time of the 78-lap red flag, Larson was leading ahead of Hendrick teammate Chase Elliott and ahead of Ryan Blaney (Penske-Ford). The race scheduled for 400 laps on Monday at 18:00 CEST continued.
