The Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KAI) has withheld judgment on whether or not to transfer the Korean launch vehicle Nuri (KSLV-II), which is scheduled for the second launch on the 15th, to the launch pad on the 14th as planned.
The airline was originally scheduled to make a decision on this on the evening of the 13th, but the decision was delayed as the weather conditions on the morning of the 14th continued to be uncertain.
On the evening of the 13th, the Korea Air Association said, “We held a flight test committee this evening and reviewed whether it was possible to transfer the Nuri on the 14th. “he said.
“After checking the weather once more early in the morning tomorrow, we decided to reopen the flight test committee and review whether it is possible to transfer the Nuri as scheduled,” he added.
Earlier, the anti-accidental engineering team held a flight test committee at 5:30 pm on the 13th and discussed whether or not to roll out the Nuri as scheduled on the 14th (the process in which the projectile comes out of the assembly building).
It is reported that the anti-accidental engineering team pointed out that rain and strong winds were predicted in the Goheung area of Jeollanam-do on the 14th and that there might be a safety problem in fixing the Nuri to the umbilical tower.
The umbilical tower plays a role in connecting propellants to the Nuriho, because it is high and it is dangerous for workers to climb up and perform necessary work when strong winds blow.
Hangukyeon plans to decide whether to roll out following seeing the weather conditions by 5 am on the 14th.
According to an official from the Ministry of Science and ICT, as of 8 pm on the 13th, it is raining and wind is blowing in the Goheung area.
If the weather conditions do not improve by the early morning of the 14th, the launch management committee may be held to adjust the launch time of the Nuri, the official said.
