Rail traffic still restricted at the beginning of the week

The ÖBB have set up an hourly shuttle service for the Railjet trains via the Deutsches Eck on Monday and Tuesday. In addition, night travel will only be resumed on Tuesday night, an ÖBB spokesman confirmed on Monday.

The ÖBB’s hourly rail shuttle service via Deutsches Eck means that all Railjets start and end in Salzburg and Kufstein respectively. There they change to the shuttle train that takes the passengers across the Deutsches Eck.

It was still unclear Monday morning whether the RJX connections between Salzburg and Munich can be carried out. In any case, the long-distance trains on the Zurich – Bregenz – Munich line are affected, they start and end in St. Margrethen, the EC trains between St. Margrethen and Munich are canceled.

Public transport back to schedule

In local transport, the ÖBB are completely running up the regular timetable again. There are still individual restrictions on Monday on the route between Scharnitz and Mittenwald. The reason for the partly still limited offer is the strike precautions that have already been initiated.

The ÖBB asks its passengers to inform themselves about the planned connections before starting their journey – either in the ÖBB timetable information Scotty, the ÖBB app or from the ÖBB customer service at 05-1717-0.

According to Deutsche Bahn, rail operations in Germany “started largely as planned” on Monday morning. Thousands of employees were contacted at short notice over the weekend to fill as many shifts as quickly as possible. In long-distance traffic, around 90 percent of the regularly scheduled trains would run on Monday. All ICE and IC trains will only be back on the road as planned from Tuesday.

The warning strike called by the railway and transport union (EVG) was to begin at 10 p.m. on Sunday and end 50 hours later, at midnight on Tuesday. The EVG had surprisingly canceled the planned strike on Saturday.
