Rail traffic resumed on Tuesday around 6:20 p.m. between Rochefort-Jemelle and Libramont, in the province of Luxembourg, indicated rail infrastructure manager Infrabel. It had been interrupted since 8:45 a.m. due to the start of a fire on a catenary near the Poix-Saint-Hubert level crossing.
The installations of a signaling box were affected by this start of fire, preventing Infrabel from running the trains. SNCB then set up a shuttle bus service in both directions.
Train traffic was only supposed to resume on Wednesday but the repair work was faster than expected and traffic was able to resume on Tuesday evening.
