Kozhikode: The Kundamangalam police registered a case of attempted murder against the accused in a ragging complaint at Kalantode MES College. A report has been sought from Calicut University College on the incident. Six students have been suspended from the college in the incident. The Kundamangalam police have registered a case against Adil, Siraj, Shanil, Ashiq, Isaac, Akhil and three other people who were seen.
A group of senior students attacked Mithilaj on Wednesday afternoon. An argument related to questioning her hair extensions led to the conflict. Mithilaj was beaten with an iron rod. The bridge of the nose was broken and the sight of the right eye was lost due to the impact of the iron rod. Mithilaj says that apart from an iron rod, he was also beaten with a set of keys and a stone.
Last Saturday also there was conflict between students in the college. The conflict was related to bringing the car to the college. As a result, Mithilaj was also attacked.
After it was found that third year students were behind the attack, six students were suspended as a preliminary measure. The Kundamangalam police have registered a case under charges including attempt to murder. Mithilaj’s father stated that he will proceed with legal action against the accused. Mithilaj’s father said that his son had been beaten in a way that no parent could bear and had complained to the college and the police.
Mithilaj, who was admitted to Kozhikode Medical College on Wednesday night, is currently undergoing treatment.
