Thursday, July 25, brought a lot of tennis excitement, not only related to the Olympic Games. In both semi-finals of the WTA 250 tournament in Prague, Polish tennis players triumphed. Magdalena Fręch was better than Laura Samson 3:6, 6:0, 4:2 (cross), a Magda Linette won against Linda Noskova 6:3, 3:6, 7:6(2). Thanks to this, both will face each other in the final of the Czech competition, and this means trouble in the context of the Olympic Games in Paris.

Magda Linette and Magdalena Fręch have a problem just before the games

Why? We’re here to explain. Their duel will begin on Friday, July 26, not before 11.30 ambecause the decisive doubles clash will take place earlier. This is a change that the tournament organizers introduced in agreement with the WTA. All this to make it easier for two Czechs – Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova – to fly to the games. However, this means that the Polish women will have a problem getting to the capital of France, because during the opening ceremony the sky over Paris (and within 150 km of it) will be… closed for safety reasons.

“Hey, what do you do when you don’t have friends with a private jet, and the WTA postpones your final match, so you have no chance of flying to Paris for the Olympics before the air zone is closed? Magdalena Fręch and I are waiting for your tips,” Linette asked on the X portal. In an interview with Przegląd Sportowy Onet Fręch informed that she and her friend will be looking for flights for Saturday.. And on Sunday they were supposed to play their matches in the singles tournament. However, there was hope that it might be possible to carry out this “operation” in a slightly different way.

Billionaire Rafał Brzoska responded to the Polish tennis player’s post. “Ms. Magda, please DM (Direct Message — private message) with details and I will try to help,” the head of InPost briefly suggested. No details have been made public so far, but Przegląd Sportowy Onet has new information on the matter. As we have established, Rafał Brzoska is indeed to charter a plane for Linette and Fręch, and at the moment the company that would handle this trip is in contact with the manager of the first of the mentioned players, in order to arrange the details of the trip.

Polish Billionaire Wants to Help. We Reveal the Behind the Scenes of the “Special Operation”

According to our sources, the tennis players will not fly directly on the InPost boss’s plane, and he is to use the services of one of the companies that organize such flights. We also know that the billionaire declared that he will cover all costs related to this sudden “operation”. This would mean that Fręch and Linette will go straight to Paris right after the WTA 250 final in Prague and will have enough time to regenerate before Sunday’s matches.

According to information that can be found in public price lists of companies involved in aircraft chartering, we know that such a service will cost around several dozen thousand PLN. It all depends on how many people, apart from the Polish players themselves, will travel from Prague to Paris. The price is also determined by the travel time, but it will not be long. The flight from the capital of France to the capital of the Czech Republic takes around two hours, which means that this trip will probably be caught by the lowest “tariff” per hour of flight.

On Friday afternoon, Magda Linette announced that everything had ended successfully.

“If angels exist, then they all definitely have the name Rafał. Thank you Rafał Brzoska — our life saver!” — she wrote on the X portal.

In the first round of the Olympic Games in Paris, Magda Linette will play against Mirra Andreyeva (32nd WTA), and Magdalena Fręch will face Wiktoria Tomova (49th WTA). Their matches will take place on Sunday, July 28, and the times will be announced the day before. The first of the Polish women will take the Olympic oath on Saturday evening at the Polish House, probably together with Fręch.
