Prices for gaming video cards in Russia are conquering hitherto unseen heights – some stores are already selling the flagship GeForce RTX 3090 for half a million rubles. More affordable models have also seriously risen in price in recent weeks, and even the most budgetary solutions can hardly be called such now.
The situation on the video card market has long been far from the norm: prices for accelerators around the world are much higher than recommended. However, around the world, prices have been slowly but surely declining in recent times. According to latest statistics in the European market, the average markup for NVIDIA and AMD video cards is +35% and +41% relative to the recommended price.
But in Russia, markups are now many times higher, many video cards are several times more expensive than manufacturers announced for them at the time of the announcement. This is due to both the growth of the dollar against the ruble and the instability of the market – sellers now can hardly be sure of a stable supply of electronics due to sanctions and problems with logistics.
At the moment, video cards are available in many stores, and in a fairly wide range. With these prices, this is not surprising. For example, recently released and done a lot of noise at the start of sales, the GeForce RTX 3050 is sold in stores at a price of 80 thousand rubles. Recall that the recommended price for the GeForce RTX 3050 in Russia at the time of release at the end of January was 24,900 rubles, and she was sold then from 27 thousand rubles. Now, for an amount of about 25 thousand rubles in the store, you can only buy a Radeon RX 550, while the same GeForce GTX 1050 Ti sells for 35 thousand rubles and more.
No less shocking are the prices for flagship video cards. Radeon RX 6900 XT models in Russian retail are offered at an average of 300 thousand rubles, although there are more affordable offers. The GeForce RTX 3090 stepped even further – here many models already offer more than 450 thousand rubles, and some even more than half a million. But there are exceptions for “only” 310 thousand rubles each. Perhaps this is not the limit.
Note that now the most profitable offers can be found on Avito and Aliexpress. However, the prices there are very high. On Avito, sellers are adjusting to the Russian market, while on Aliexpress, prices are rising with the exchange rate.
