The 23-second cell phone video is said to show a man and a woman from India being thrown out of the supermarket by a security service employee.
The woman posted the video on Twitter on Wednesday and said she and her companion were racially insulted when they tried to exchange milk. The incident is said to have occurred in the branch in Magdeburg’s Neustadt district.

According to the Magdeburg police station, an employee of the supermarket filed a criminal complaint on Thursday in connection with the incident that took place on Wednesday evening. It was regarding the fact that a video of him had been published on the Internet without his consent, said a spokesman. The police have initiated investigations into this matter and are carefully examining it, it said.
