Buenos Aires.- Romero is from Racing! The Academy acquired 100% of the Paraguayan’s pass in exchange for 2.7 million dollars to be paid in three installments. Cerro Porteño agreed to keep 30% of the capital gain from a future sale. He will sign for four years.
This Friday Racing secured its second reinforcement. This is the Paraguayan Oscar Romero Villamayor, a 22-year-old left-handed midfielder with a promising future who arrives from Cerro Porteño with 100% of the pass in exchange for 2.7 million dollars to be paid in three easy installments. El Ciclón del Barrio Obrero, meanwhile, agreed to keep 30% of the capital gain from a future sale.
Although he is considered one of the great jewels to emerge from the Guaraní club, Romero took his first steps in the Boca Inferiors. He stayed there for two years, until he was 14, when he had to leave the country due to a paperwork problem. It was then that Cerro took him in. Skillful, challenging and with a lot of goals, he was one of the great figures of the last Copa Sudamericana. That stupendous performance even put him under the scrutiny of several of Europe’s greats.
Now it is Racing that invites him to return to Argentina. And to Cocca’s joy, in the coming days he will sign a four-year contract. With Romero closed, the Academy focuses on the other reinforcements that the coach wants, Washington Camacho and Ezequiel Rescaldani, who are also close.
