Rachid Saihi has been appointed to the position of Managing Director of the Center Monétique Interbancaire (CMI), succeeding Ismaïl Bellali, as of July 6.
“The Board of Directors of the Center Monétique Interbancaire (CMI) meeting on July 5, 2023, under the chairmanship of Mr. Hassan El Bedraoui, appointed Mr. Rachid Saihi as Chief Executive Officer of the CMI as of July 6, 2023. He succeeds Mr. Ismaïl Bellali who has successfully accompanied the development of the CMI for more than 24 years”, indicates the Center in a press release.
According to the same source, the Board of Directors thanked Mr. Bellali for his great contribution and dedication throughout his career with Interbank and then CMI.
During all these years, Mr. Bellali has been a pillar of the CMI and has greatly contributed to its growth. He played a crucial role in the development of the electronic banking system in Morocco.
For his part, Mr. Saihi has to his credit solid experience in strategic leadership positions. He has evolved for more than 30 years in the fields of innovative technologies by actively supporting the structural development of leading financial operators. Graduate of the Mohammedia School of Engineers in Rabat and holder of an MBA from the University of Chicago, Mr. Saihi successively held several management positions within the multinational IBM as Consulting Director, IBM Services Director Morocco, Regional Sales Director IBM France and finally Director IBM Services Africa & Middle East.
For the past two years, he has held the position of Managing Director of an operator of electronic payment solutions in Morocco.
