“I sent it to Charli. I’m like, if I do anything, there has to be a Charli song,” Sennott shared, confessing that “Detonate” is a personal favourite. According to Sennott, Charli loved the teaser, dove into the script, and ultimately gave her enthusiastic approval, saying a resounding “Yeah, babe, sure.”

Zhu, who directs and stars in Bunnylovr, explained how the bunny’s presence became a defining factor in the filmmaking process. “the diva bunny ate up 25% of the film’s budget,” Zhu joked. But Zhu also emphasized the importance of music in bringing the film’s themes and aesthetic to life. “I envisioned “Detonate” fitting perfectly with the film’s themes and aesthetic,” she said.“Having Charli’s music underscore the story adds another layer of depth and vibrancy to the overall experience. Rachel’s passion for Charli’s music definitely helped make this happen!”

“Filming with the bunny was definitely an adventure!” Sennott laughed. “We had to be super patient and flexible. It turns out, bunnies have their own ideas about when they want to perform!” Zhu chimed in, jokingly, “The diva bunny ate up 25% of the film’s budget!” But the furry star wasn’t just a quirky addition; he became integral to the film’s story.
