PAW HELP angry at cowardly action

punching (OTS) Yesterday at 6 a.m. an employee of PFOTENHILFE found two rabbits in front of the main gate of the animal shelter in Lochen. The animals were simply parked there secretly, quietly and quietly – crammed into a narrow bag. “I find that barbaric and assume that people went on vacation and wanted to get rid of the animals,” says PFOTENHILFE boss Johanna Stadler, annoyed.

The two rabbits were immediately checked and cared for. It is a male, not neutered animal and a girl. “I am therefore afraid that the female rabbit is also pregnant. The animals were probably an Easter present. Animals are simply unsuitable as surprises and gifts because far too often they end up neglected in a corner following a few weeks and then end up in an animal shelter or are even abandoned,” explains Stadler, adding: “You don’t abandon animals! Never! Not even in front of an animal shelter! If you have to hand over your animals, you call us and don’t just put them in front of our door! It’s just impossible to shirk the responsibility and expense by simply abandoning the animals!”

Abandonment is a criminal offence

Anyone who leaves an animal somewhere like an unwanted thing commits a criminal offence. In this case, administrative penalties of up to 3,750 euros, or up to 7,500 euros in repeated cases, will be imposed.
