R. Umerov about the spread of false news: an attempt is being made to divide Ukrainian society

Military expert Egidijus Papečkys, in his review of the war published on the Facebook social network on Monday evening, assessed that the usual intense and bloody battles are taking place at the front, with both sides attacking and counter-attacking.

He noted that on Monday, the Ukrainians managed to push the Russians back a bit north of Avdiyivka, near Krasnohorivka. Although the advance is small, according to a military expert, it caused concern.

“I keep repeating that the Russian military leadership is very annoyed by the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper, but neither infantry attack nor artillery fire can drive them out of here. In the last few days, the Russians have been particularly active in using aviation, bombing with glide bombs,” E. Papečkys wrote.

The dynamics of the bombing are noteworthy: on Sunday, the Russians dropped 38 FAB-500 kg planning bombs, and on Monday – already 87.

“This means that this frontline is very important to the Russians, and that the Russian air force has received many attachments that turn a simple bomb into a much more accurate weapon,” he added.

According to the expert, the good news is that Ukrainian military aviation is also delivering very heavy blows to Russian forces. The Su-24M and Su-27 attack targets far behind with Western missiles, while the Su-25 attacks the front lines, usually with unguided missiles.

“Since the old Soviet missiles are almost finished, the American 127mm ZUNI missiles are mostly used. They are not new either, the Russians recently shared photos showing rust on their surface, but they work perfectly, the aggressors don’t like firing them very much,” explained E. Papečkys.

In this war, it is the Russians who are learning from the Ukrainians, and are constantly copying their successful tactics, he noted.

The military expert also drew attention to the tension between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the commander of the armed forces Valery Zaluzhno. In his opinion, the polemic about the course of the war, which is currently raging in the foreign media, “doesn’t seem like it and hardly adds points to the president”.

Summing up, E. Papečkys said that the hot battles in Ukraine will definitely not end anytime soon.

“The Ukrainians are regrouping again and are not going to let the Russians take the initiative – both sides are now equally active, and this situation will remain for some time. It is important for the aggressor to achieve something now, and the Ukrainians need to get out of this phase of the war with as few losses as possible, conserving forces for later actions,” he wrote.
