“Clear and sunny sky, + 30, sand dunes and palm trees, surfers flying in 2-meter high waves, a company having fun on the bar terrace, vacationers quietly reading books on deckchairs – this image is not from a trip. This is the future daily life of the residents of Dlaskininki and resort guests, the sea under the roof with a surfing wave pool, the project of which I discussed yesterday with the experts of the foreign company White Water West: the manager who separated from Canada, Anthony Marinakis, the business manager Sirkos Adler, who arrived from Germany, and the representative in Poland and the Baltic States, Ana Vojdala”, writes R. Malinauskas on his Facebook account.

According to R. Malinauskas, the aim is to establish a unique water and entertainment center next to the winter complex “Snow Arena”, which would include swimming pools, relaxation oases, paddle courts, acrobatic skiing, climbing walls, beach, sea, other entertainment and the only wave pool in Europe that operates all year round. under the roof for amateurs and professionals of the increasingly popular sport of surfing, with adjustable wave heights, shapes and frequencies.

“Those who dream of learning to surf will be able to do so in Druskininkai, those who already know will be able to improve their skills in 2-meter-high waves, and those who are looking for a quiet rest will be able to admire the beautiful coast from the sunbeds or bar terrace,” writes the mayor.

He claims that he and his team visited several wave pools abroad in order to assess what was done well and what could be improved.

“We want the Druskininkai Sea to meet the highest standards.

The experts of the company White Water West are just finishing one of their projects, and at the beginning of next year the open-air wave pool in Munich, equipped with the latest technology, will open its doors.

They invite you to view this work of theirs and evaluate how the latest wave technologies work and choose what suits the Druskinians best”, writes R. Malinauskas.

R. Malinauskas spoke about the idea of establishing an artificial sea with a beach in Druskininkai already in 2012. Then, it was planned to build an indoor playground with seaside views, real heated sand dunes, pine trees, wooden paths and a swimming pool simulating a rough sea next to the water amusement park.
