The forces present
Dazzling this winter, HANNIBAL TUILERIE (15) has clearly reached a milestone recently. Equipped with a burst of final speed that is out of the ordinary, this trotter in full bloom might offer new success to Jacques Bruneau, author of a fantastic 2023/2024 meeting.
Fully reassuring a month ago, in the Prix du Jura, GOLD DAIRPET (14) will lead the opposition in the company of EUREKA VRIE (16), ideally located at the winnings ceiling, and GAOTCHO JIEL (11), who is not does not make a long trip from the South-East for tourist purposes. HERE WE GO (10) has not yet left the top three this winter and is a priority choice, especially as it will appear completely unshod.
BELZEBU’JET (7), to be credited with a good end of the race for his debut on our soil, SELECTED NEWS (3), on the rise, and GINKGO THELOIS (8), in his category, are all potential places.

The starters in detail and the opinions of the pros
1 – HIDDEN TEXAS
When he is not at fault, this good finisher regularly finishes in the top five. He takes on a stronger game than usual but will appear completely unshod, which has only happened to him three times since the start of his career. For thrill seekers.
Mathieu Mottier, coach:
“Hidden Texas (1) has been under my training for a good month. On January 7, he performed well. After waiting in the last rows, he progressed on the climb and was generous and diligent until the end. He has no choice of commitments and will have to face a tough field on Friday. He will have better opportunities during March. I’m going to unshoe him with all four feet. A place remains possible at the end of a favorable course. »
2 – ENJOY THE GAME
This very serious trotter has been absent since August 23 and might lack competition for this reappearance. He has no room for maneuver and seems clearly blocked by the main favorites. Not easy.
The reporter’s opinion:
“Enjoy The Game (2) was away from competition for several months. He will make a comeback here once morest quality opponents and, above all, in full possession of their means. His presence on arrival would be a major surprise. »
NEWS" style="margin-bottom: 1%;">3 – SELECTED NEWS
Arriving at Thierry Duvaldestin last spring, this son of Maharajah is gaining momentum and has left favorable impressions during his last two outings. Even if he is not the most committed, he has his say.
Thierry Duvaldestin, coach:
“Selected News (3) didn’t have a lot of races on its schedule this winter. Only competition will allow him to improve. On Christmas Day, he had held his game honorably, in an event with few runners. The next time, at Cagnes-sur-Mer, he ran properly. He worked well, but really didn’t have any margin. In this Quinté+, it would fulfill its contract by taking fourth or fifth place. »
4 – TOTO BAROSSO
Unlucky during his first two attempts at the meeting, over 2100 meters, this waiter then committed the irreparable twice on long courses. His best attempts give him a chance, but above all he must reassure at the moment.
Anthony Barrier, last driver:
“The last outing of Toto Barosso (4), in Bordeaux, includes excuses. I hadn’t done his heat and he escaped me in the first turn. After his disqualification, I must say that he left a rather favorable impression on me. I know he has done well since then. In this Quinté+, I think it will not be ridiculous. »
5 – GARDNER SHAW
In eight attempts on the big Vincennes track, this brave trotter has never been able to finish in the winning pair. He will remain shod and will undoubtedly be more competitive soon, in the provinces. Better to ignore it.
Yannick Henry, coach:
“Gardner Shaw (5) hasn’t had a good program lately and there was no point in sharpening him. Friday evening, this outing will do him the greatest good. He has better commitments coming up. The opposition is raised and I prefer not to unshoe it. Any allocation would be welcome. »
6 – PINTO BOB
After a very encouraging end to the race in the Prix de Bar-le-Duc (6th), this Swedish horse did not show its true colors on January 20 (14th). It is not an everyday one, but has the “engine” to place itself in such a field. A question of goodwill.
The reporter’s opinion:
“For his comeback, in the Prix de Bar-le-Duc, Pinto Bob (6) provided a good final effort, while being held up. The next time, in the Prix de Brest, in strong company, he started quickly before sinking at the intersection of the tracks. Did he suffer from the syndrome of the famous second race following an absence? Still, it is difficult to retain it at the start of this Quinté+. »
7 – BELZEBU’JET
In the coveted Prix Jean-René Gougeon (Gr.3), this transalpine trotter provided a pleasant end to the race (7th), while he was making his debut on our soil. He has the potential to shine in such a company, it remains to be seen whether he will last this long distance.
Gabriele Gelormini, last driver:
“The last outing of Belzebu’Jet (7) left a favorable impression on me. With the number 15 behind the autostart, he had to wait in the back rows. He found himself far enough out of the final turn, but provided a strong end to the race. The increase in distance will not bother him, since he is easy to lead and does not pull. I advise you not to ignore your chances. »
8 – GINKGO THELOIS
Regularly at fault in previous seasons, this 8-year-old gelding has been much more regular lately. He has just finished in the wake of HANNIBAL TUILERIE (15) and HERE WE GO (10) on this course, following being inserted between them on Christmas Day. Potential placement.
Franck Leblanc, coach:
“Ginkgo Thelois (8) worked well for this event. Obviously, the opposition does not lack spice. He is loaded with winnings and his room for maneuver is now reduced. However, the extension of the distance will benefit it. If all goes well, I believe he can take a place. »
9 – SAHARA JAEBURN
This son of Ready Cash has not been able to benefit from favorable circumstances of late and is certainly better than his music indicates. Even if it remains more comfortable on reduced routes, it is absolutely not out of the woods.
Dominik Locqueneux, coach:
“Sahara Jaeburn (9) may have stood a little too far away during the course on January 28. He didn’t finish badly and I really liked his attempt. He has worked well since then. The increase in distance will in no way upset him. He has often run over 2100 meters because he is more experienced behind the autostart. When flying, you must always be vigilant. At the end of a favorable run, I would be disappointed not to see him finish among the top five. »
10 – HERE WE GO
Impeccable since the start of winter, this student of Julien Dubois has however been unable to stand the comparison once morest HANNIBAL TUILERIE (15) on two occasions. If it still provides its good value, its place is on the podium, probably still behind the aforementioned.
Julien Dubois, coach:
“Here We Go (10) produces a wonderful winter meeting. In training, he doesn’t seem to be impressed by his efforts. He naturally moves up in category because he has made gains, but he should still defend himself well. The higher the pace, the more advantage he will have. It is imperative to hide the effort from him. I hope everything goes well. »
11 – GAOTCHO EAT
Very efficient when operating barefoot, this resident of Romuald Mourice makes a long trip to participate in this Quinté+. It has excellent “lines” in Cagnes-sur-Mer, but lacks references in Vincennes. Yes, but…
Romuald Mourice, coach:
“Gaotcho Jiel (11) might have run Thursday in Cagnes-sur-Mer, but I ultimately opted for this commitment. I can’t wait to see him on the 2700 meters of the big track, with Eric Raffin as well. Hard at work, he likes to set his own pace. Physically, he is at the top. Obviously, Hannibal Tuilerie (15) and Here We Go (10) will be a priority to fear. »
12 – HOPE OF THE WALNUT
After several lackluster performances, this protégé of Jean-Luc Bigeon regained morale by winning a recent claiming race. He no longer has any margin at this level and his ambitions will be limited to fifth place.
Jean-Luc Bigeon, coach:
“As his last victorious outing indicates, Espoir du Noyer (12) is in good condition. Nevertheless, it was a test worth claiming. The opposition is not the same Friday evening. But he is well placed to win and has absolutely nothing to lose. Even if its room for maneuver is tiny, it is not incapable of slipping into the winning combination of Quinté+. »
13 – EASTON OF MY LIFE
The big Vincennes track has never been this son of Texas Charm’s cup of tea. His mentor did not use a catch-driver and he will undoubtedly be sharper soon, on flat profiles. Big outsider.
François Giard, coach:
“Easton Of My Life (13) was unable to benefit from an interesting program this winter and therefore ran little. It’s a shame because it’s in good condition. He is better on the right, but is still doing his job on the big Vincennes track. The opposition is tough and sixth or seventh place would be more than satisfying for me. »
14 – GOLD DAIRPET
After putting an end to a good series of podiums on January 3, this representative of Richard Cohen set the record straight in the Prix du Jura (4th). Right in its category and performing well on this course, it has everything to please. Solid base.
Cyril Chenu, trainer:
“Gold Dairpet (14) did well in the Prix du Jura. He was not at his best, as the blood tests showed. Everything is back to normal and he is ready to defend his chances dearly this Friday evening. Yoann Lebourgeois has always had great success with him. The distance suits him well. A well-conducted test would serve his interests because he prefers to come following others from now on. Even if the opposition is not to be taken lightly, he keeps his say. »
15 – HANNIBAL TUILERIE
This formidable sprinter has not suffered defeat in his last six attempts without his four irons. He still benefits from a favorable commitment and the prize seems well within his reach. If he can wait until the final turn, he will undoubtedly be irresistible. The scarecrow.
Jacques Bruneau, trainer:
“Hannibal Tuilerie (15) often had dream runs this winter. I hope it will be the same this Friday evening. In condition, it is at best. Distance is right up his alley. If he can benefit from the good car which takes him back to the entrance to the straight, he will still finish quickly. »
16 – EUREKA IS BOILING
During his last two attempts, this hard-working subject was only beaten by excellent competitors. Friday evening, he discovered a solid gold commitment, less than €3,000 from the ceiling. Without incident, he will not come out of the top five.
Anthony Barrier, driver :
“Eureka Vrie (16) is a serious horse, who repeats his races quite well overall. At the end of the year, he completed the 2700 meters of the long track in a time of 1’12”5, which is excellent. Friday, he has a tailor-made commitment. He will have his hind legs unshod and his front legs braced, for his comfort. Without incident, he will take an active part in the arrival. »
