HEAD of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) Benny Rhamdani has finished providing clarification regarding the figure of T, the controller of online gambling in Indonesia. Benny was questioned for five hours with a total of 22 questions
“The process was quite long, 5 and a half hours, namely from around 14.00 WIB, more or less there were 22 questions that I have answered,” said Benny at the Bareskrim Polri Building, South Jakarta, Monday, July 29, 2024.
However, Benny still keeps the identity of T, who is said to be the controller of online gambling in Cambodia, a secret. He only conveyed it to investigators at the Directorate of General Crimes (Dittipidum) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
“The point is this, who is T, whether he is really the controller or not, I have stated it in the minutes that I signed earlier in providing clarification to fellow investigators,” he said.
Benny admitted that he would not reveal further about the figure of T. Likewise his background and work. He ensured to consistently mention the initials. He invited the Bareskrim Polri investigators to ask.
“What is certain is that I consistently mention the initials. Whose initials are those, what is their background, so I have given information to the investigating police and please ask the investigators,” he said.

In addition, Benny said that so far many media have been misleading in their reporting. According to him, he did not focus on online gambling in Indonesia, but rather the placement of illegal migrant workers employed as online gambling and online scamming in Cambodia.
In fact, in a limited meeting (ratas) with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and a number of state officials, he admitted to also conveying a number of other initials. Such as the illegal placement of citizens to Singapore with the perpetrator with the initials S/J who has the status of a wanted person (DPO) until today.
“Then, the two initials ALO/AIN, the third initials RS have DPO status, then the initials S and NM,” explained Benny.
