Message from Jose Riestra
Today, the executive president of Atlas, José Riestra, sent a message to the fans and the media:
“Dear faithful, the last few hours we have experienced moments of great frustration, impotence and pain. After what we experienced on Saturday in La Corregidora, our hearts will be marked forever.
I want to tell you that from the first minute the game was suspended, we have been in constant communication with the authorities, with the league and the federation.
We have seen all kinds of images and videos that fill us with deep pain. As a group, we have always promoted that winning by serving is the only option. That football is a vehicle to improve our society.
We have determined that starting today and effective immediately, each and every one of our home games will be non-anonymous. That is, that 100% of the people who attend the parties are identified. This, as preventive measures and to end the impunity of many people.
I ask you not to fall into misinformation. If you have information other than the official one, please contact the authorities.
On behalf of our coaching staff, players, collaborators and all the members of the Atlas family, we send a deep hug to all the people who lived part of Saturday’s events.”
