Did Quentin Bataillon step out of his role by going to TPMP on Tuesday evening? The president of the commission of inquiry into TNT frequencies commented on his work on the set of Cyril Hanouna, who himself was interviewed by this commission a few weeks ago. Already the simple presence of the Renaissance deputy has aroused a lot of criticism, his outing on Yann Barthès was particularly poorly received by the left.
Asked to comment on the attitudes of the two presenters during the auditions, Mr. Bataillon pointed the finger at the Quotidien star: “It’s the first time that I got angry when I’m usually quite calm. He had a pretty arrogant attitude from the start. He refused to answer our questions, I asked a question and he looked at the people from the National Rally. It was not the exercise, and we had to remind him in a polite manner,” he said. As a reminder, the commission was initiated by LFI deputies in the fall to shed light on the allocation of DTT frequencies, including those of C8 and CNews which are back in play this year.
Many left-wing figures have criticized Mr. Bataillon. The first secretary of the Socialist Party, Olivier Faure, tackled his own arrogance “of going to Hanouna to spit on Barthès while chairing a commission of inquiry into TNT.” Aurélien Saintoul (LFI) was ironic regarding the presence of the president of the commission in TPMP: “Thank you for your experimental approach to move the commission of inquiry forward. Don’t forget to check if we can now name or even criticize V. Bolloré in TPMP without risking being attacked by C. Hanouna”. Finally, Alexis Corbière (LFI), believes that “no one can believe in their independence and objectivity anymore”.
