In statements to reporters upon his arrival, Queiroz expressed his happiness to return to coach the Iranian national team.
A few days ago, the Iranian Football Association announced the appointment of Queiroz as coach of the Iranian national team once more, to succeed Croatian Dragan Skocic, who led the Iranian team to qualify for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup.
Queiroz previously led the Iranian national team in the World Cup in 2014 and 2018, while his new contract with the Iranian Football Association extends for 3 and a half months, i.e. following the end of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which will start on November 20.
The appointment of Queiroz to coach the Iranian national team came following… The Egyptian Football Association terminated his contract with him last April He was unable to lead the Egyptian team to the World Cup in Qatar, knowing that he led him to the final match in the 2021 African Nations Championship, which he lost to Senegal.
It is noteworthy that the Iranian national team came in the second group in the World Cup 2022, which also includes the teams of England, the United States and Wales.
