“I just arrived this week, but I wanted to be part of this event. I’m here for a society where everyone is respected.”
A march was also held, starting from Seoul Plaza and returning through Jonggak Station and Euljiro Ip Station.
Although it is raining heavily, the large-scale march that started in Seoul Plaza continues.
A rally once morest the event was also held, centered on conservative religious groups, right across from the venue of the Queer Festival.
They also shouted while holding up signs that read ‘Anti-Discrimination Law’ and ‘Anti-Homosexuality’.
“I absolutely oppose homosexual queer events. I oppose it.”
The city of Seoul, fearing a clash between the two sides, reduced the queer festival to one day and allowed the use of Seoul Plaza on condition that it bans the display of pornography.
The police prepared 58 companies, but there were no major clashes as participants from both sides marched on different routes.
