QUEEN Rania has become a loving grandmother after her eldest son, Crown Prince Hussein and his wife, Princess Rajwa, welcomed their first child.

The heir to the Jordanian throne confirmed the birth of her daughter, Princess Iman, on Saturday, and in new photos, Rania looked very fond of the new addition to the family. Rania was seen cradling her granddaughter as she introduced her to the rest of the family.

In a series of images shared on Instagram, Rania’s husband, King Abdullah, was also seen meeting his first grandchild, while another image showed Rania comforting the baby while he was still in hospital.

Princess Salma was also seen holding her nephew wrapped in a white flowered baby dress, while Prince Hashem looked lovingly at the new member of the family.

The sweetest photo Rania shared shows new father Hussein holding his daughter with love and adoration.

In a sweet caption, Rania wrote: “Iman, you have stolen my heart. Our family has never been happier!”

The birth of Princess Iman was announced on August 3, with a statement from the Hashemite Royal Court stating: “The Hashemite Royal Court is pleased to announce that His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein were blessed with a daughter on August 3, 2024, whom they named Iman.

“The Court of the Hashemite Kingdom extends its sincere congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty and to Her Majesty King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on this happy occasion.

“Her Majesty is very happy and grateful for the presence of their first child, and invites well-wishers to consider making a donation to the Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans in lieu of gifts or flowers.”

Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa of Jordan said “We are thrilled to begin this new chapter in our lives. Our family is growing, and we are excited to welcome our baby into the world.”

Despite the birth, the line of succession to the Jordanian throne has not changed. Jordan’s royal family operates under the rule of agnatic primogeniture, meaning women are excluded from the throne and the line of succession. (Hello Magazine/Z-3)
