Queen Elizabeth II is under medical supervision at her Balmoral residence in Scotland following doctors raised concerns regarding her health, Buckingham Palace said.
All the children of the queen, 96 years old, already went to the Scottish castle, near Aberdeen.
“Following further assessment this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended that she remain under medical supervision,” according to the statement.
“The queen remains quiet at Balmoral.”
prince charles has traveled to Balmoral with Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.
Her eldest son, William, Duke of Cambridge and second in line, arrived hours later, but Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, remains in Windsor with her children.
Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Edward and Sophia, are also at the Scottish residence, some 40 miles west of Aberdeen.
Anne, the princess royal, was already in Scotland for previous commitments.
Prince Harry traveled to Balmoral alone, according to his spokesman. Initially it was reported that he would travel to Scotland with his wife Meghan, but shortly following they announced that the Duchess would stay in London.
meeting canceled
The announcement comes following the queen withdrew from a Privy Council on Wednesday, following recommendations from her doctors.
According to the royal correspondent, Sean Coughlan, it is clear that the health of the queen is a pressing concern, much more explicit than before, and that it goes beyond mobility difficulties.
There are also warnings once morest unfounded speculation, such as that he might have taken a dip. On Tuesday she was photographed smiling as she named the new prime minister, Liz Truss.
But the last-minute cancellation of what would only have been a virtual meeting of the Privy Council – with high-ranking ministers – leaves no doubt regarding the fragility of the queen’s health.
“The Palace has gone above and beyond,” said BBC medical editor Fergus Walsh.
For Walsh, the key phrase in the official statement was the one that expressed the doctors’ concern.
New UK Prime Minister Truss said “the whole country” is “deeply concerned”.
“My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across the UK – are with Her Majesty the Queen and her family at this time,” he added.
The queen named Truss as prime minister at Balmoral on Tuesday, instead of traveling to London for the event.
During her 70-year reign, the queen has regularly held an audience with the new prime minister in Buckingham Palace.
The monarch has been on summer vacation at her home in Scotland since July.

There is a certain tension here at the gates of Balmoral Castle.
A well prepared and coordinated plan has already been put into operation.
Police are redirecting traffic and every few minutes a reporter or photographer crosses the Isambard Kingdom Brunel Bridge over the River Dee to join people waiting outside the property in the rain.
At 5:05 pm camera flashes exploded as the motorcade arrived with Prince William driving the car alongside Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophia, the Countess of Wessex.
They arrive at a place that the queen loves, perhaps more than any other.
In modern times, Balmoral Castle, built in the 1850s for Queen Victoria, has been an important place in the life of the royal family and a symbol of the monarchy.
The prayers here are now addressed to Isabel, Victoria’s great-great-granddaughter.
Concern
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, said: “My prayers, and the prayers of people across the [iglesia de Inglaterra] and of the nation are today with her majesty the queen”.
“May the presence of God strengthen and comfort your majestyher family and those who care for her at Balmoral,” he added.
Labor Party leader Keir Starmer said he was “deeply concerned” while Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon sent her thoughts and best wishes to the Queen.
Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford sent his best wishes on behalf of the Welsh people.
Meanwhile, in London, despite the bad weather, several people have begun to approach Buckingham Palace following hearing the news regarding the queen’s health.
