In the UK, Queen Elizabeth II has died at the age of 97. She spent her last days in Balmoral under medical supervision.
“This followingnoon the Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral. The King and Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral tonight and return to London tomorrow,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
