Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday (8/9/2022) local time, at Balmoral Palace, Scotland. The British leader died at the age of 96.
The death of Queen Elizabeth has saddened the United Kingdom. A day of national mourning was set for 12 days, which finally made the Premier League also stop its competition.

The Premier League will be temporarily out of action this weekend, it was announced in an official statement on Friday (9/9). No games from Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and all football matches during the mourning period.
However, there is an appeal that Premier League continue in the midst of the grief of death War Elizabeth II. Well-known presenter, who is also Arsenal fan, Piers Morgan, suggested the Premier League to continue for several reasons.
“Sports should go on. Firstly, the Queen herself loves sports. And secondly, it would be great to hear or see the crowd sing nationally once more in honor of Her Majesty, as West Ham fans did so amazingly yesterday,” Piers tweeted. Morgan on Twitter.
Unlike football, Rugby will continue to compete this weekend. The Rugby Federation has decided to continue the match amid grief over his death War Elizabeth II.
