Fearing a drop in traffic due to the gloomy weather, Quebec’s tourism industry is delighted to have experienced higher than expected attendance.

Around 12 p.m., tourists were there in Old Quebec, particularly at the outdoor skating rink at Place D’Youville.
Although the hotels are not full, the general director of the Quebec Region Hotel Association (AHRQ), Alupa Clarke, says that the attendance statistics are “good”.

“There was a lot of rain that fell, so we had fears. Finally, it’s good, the traffic is quite enormous. Last week, from December 17 to 23, we were the number 1 destination in Canada,” he says.
“It’s better than I thought it would be. We expected 65%. People are there.”
