Two realities for two regions of Quebec this weekend. Forecast.
Two situations
Two air masses should generate two distinct situations in Quebec this Saturday. On the one hand, the east of the province, notably the North Shore and Gaspésie, will be entitled to an influx of cold air. Indeed, the presence of an anticyclone in the north and an easterly wind would bring in cold to prevent the mercury from rising above the threshold of 5°C.
Two anomalies
The northwest of the province would benefit from very mild temperatures for the season. In fact, the mercury might rise 8°C to 12°C above normal. For greater Montreal and southern Quebec, the maximum might reach the threshold of 20°C. However, the seasonal average already reaches 17°C in these areas, which means that the anomaly would be less significant. Conversely, maximums in the east of the province would be up to 4°C below normal.
Two possibilities
Two oppositions are possible this weekend. On the one hand, the hottest temperature that certain regions have experienced since the start of the season might be exceeded while maximums would exceed 20°C in places. This is particularly the case for northwestern Quebec. Even if there is no question of record cold in eastern Quebec, this region risks experiencing a frost episode.
