Quebec Weather: Snow, Rain, and Rising Temperatures – Latest Updates and Forecasts

2024-02-01 10:42:28

Most areas of Quebec will be treated to a mix of precipitation between snow and rain on Thursday, while the mercury will be on the rise with positive temperatures in the south of the province.

In areas of southern Quebec, intermittent snow will change to rain in the followingnoon, as is the case in Montreal where it will be 3 degrees, according to Environment Canada.

The federal agency is forecasting accumulations of 2 centimeters of snow in western Quebec as well as in areas north of Montreal, notably the Laurentians.

Accumulations might reach 5 centimeters in certain areas of the center of the province, notably in Quebec, or even more in Saguenay, but much less elsewhere.

Temperatures will be comfortable, but this mild weather might be spoiled by strong winds with gusts of 40 km/h, especially in the followingnoon.

On the other hand, the situation risks getting worse in Eastern Quebec where certain sectors might receive up to 10 centimeters of snow, such as Bas-Saint-Laurent.

Here too, strong winds are likely to spoil the party and cause blowing snow and wind chill, while seasonal temperatures are expected.

For Friday, the federal agency anticipates generally cloudy weather with sunny spells and temperatures of minus 2 degrees in Montreal and Quebec.
