TWO MotoGP racers from Monster Energy Yamaha, Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins, are looking forward to further technical improvements at the San Marino GP which will take place at the Misano Circuit, Italy, this weekend.
“After Aragon, we continue to Misano. We did a test here not long ago. During the private test, the speed was good, but the time attack is still crucial (to pay attention to),” said Quartararo as reported by BetweenThursday (5/9).
Misano is a special circuit for Quartararo, as he secured the world title here in 2021.
The French rider enjoys riding his YZR-M1 at this venue, as evidenced by the two second places he achieved here in the premier class in 2019 and 2021, and he will be hoping for another positive result this weekend.
“Let’s see what we can do this weekend,” said Quartararo.
Meanwhile, Misano was also a good track for Rins when he was still a junior racer.

Rins has stood on the podium at Misano three times, having won the Moto3 races in 2013 and 2014, as well as securing second place in Moto2 in 2016.
His best result in MotoGP was achieved in 2018 when he finished fourth.
“I hope this weekend I can see the difference (technically) more clearly. I’m looking forward to it,” said Rins.

On the other hand, Yamaha MotoGP Team Director Massimo Meregalli said he and the team are excited to start their work at the San Marino Grand Prix, considering they have already conducted a private test at this iconic circuit, just before the Aragon Grand Prix.
“We gained some good information during this test, and let’s see how the race weekend data will compare during the first of the two races we will have in Misano,” said Meregalli.
“In addition, we will also do additional testing on Monday (9/9) at this track. We will try to maximize our productivity as much as possible in each session. Misano is one of the team’s favorite tracks, with an incredible atmosphere, so the team is fully motivated,” he added. (Z-6)
