He also said that credibility in the quality system can boost exports and access to competitive markets, both nationally and internationally, which is why he highlights the need to comply with international standards in order to compete in the global market.
He also mentioned that UNIDO experts identified areas for improvement in Paraguay’s quality infrastructure and highlighted the role that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce plays in strengthening this infrastructure.
Giménez said that this joint work between the MIC and UNIDO is expected to improve the quality of infrastructure in the country and position the Ministry of Industry and Commerce as a benchmark in the sector.
Mappings
The representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Javier Fernández, explained that the organization carried out mappings with different actors on the state of the quality infrastructure in the country, which includes standards, regulations, conformity assessment, metrology, accreditation and standardization.
The MIC said that the analysis revealed several opportunities for Paraguay to improve its quality infrastructure, especially in areas that will boost its insertion in local and international trade.
“There is great interest in strengthening the different dimensions of the quality infrastructure in Paraguay and in ensuring a greater role for the MIC.
