At an event in Brasília, municipal managers were invited to encourage courses at the Escola do Trabalhador 4.0 and expand access to digital skills and professional insertion

São Paulo, April 2023 – Escola do Trabalhador 4.0, a project by the Ministry of Labor and Employment in partnership with Microsoft Brazil, which offers more than 40 free training courses in digital skills, was featured in the XXIV March to Brasília in Defense of Municipalities. The event, which took place between March 27th and 30th, in Brasília, is the largest political meeting in Latin America, and brought together more than 5,000 municipal managers.

On the occasion, the Ministry of Labor and Employment carried out an action to encourage the mayors present at the event to promote the digital qualification of their population. In addition to publicizing the courses, the creation of computer labs was also suggested so that municipal school teachers might have access to the contents made available by the Ministry and incorporate the program’s learning trails into existing initiatives in their municipalities.

Escola do Trabalhador 4.0 is an initiative of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, which aims to promote training actions focused on the development of digital skills for professional insertion in the digital economy. Escola do Trabalhador is also part of Microsoft Mais Brasil, a comprehensive plan launched by the company in October 2020, to contribute to the country’s economic and sustainable growth.

“At Microsoft, we know the importance of education and the need to promote professional qualification for digital tools. Our expectation is that this initiative can contribute to young people having quick and practical access to essential content for their training that will help them enter the current and future job market.”, comments Lucia Rodrigues, leader of Philanthropy at Microsoft Brazil. “It is an opportunity to introduce these young people to the world of technology and train new professionals for the sector that today demands a lot of qualified labor”, she completes.

Free online courses are available to Brazilians across the country and are constantly updated. The remote teaching platform has knowledge trails in several areas such as digital literacy, productivity, data analysis, among others, including some courses with certification. The objective of the program is to train the workforce and promote qualification of young people and adults with a focus on increasing employability. The target audience is people aged 16 and over who are looking for a job, or in career transition, in order to prepare them for the new demands of the world of work, with a focus on technology.
