Qualcomm announced its latest entry-level chipset, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (SM4450), the successor to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 last September. The Snapdragon X61 is the first chipset in the series to support the new 5G version of the 3GPP Release 16 standard, the first 4nm architecture in the Snapdragon 4-series. The first in the entry-level series with two new high-efficiency CPU cores (clocked at 2.2GHz) and six energy-efficient cores (2.0GHz), resulting in a 10% performance increase compared to Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, while the GPU uses Andreno, which has not yet been clearly identified. The memory in this model has been upgraded to support newer versions of RAM and ROM, with support for LPDDR5x RAM (up to 3,200MHz) and ROM UFS 3.1 (2-lane).
