Qualcomm presenta su chip FastConnect 7800 con WiFi 7 y Bluetooth 5.3 en #MWC22

And when it’s never enough, the company Qualcomm comes out to hit the table, unveiling a new chip at MWC22. This is called FastConnect 7800 and it brings several interesting aspects that we will tell you regarding next.

If you thought that WiFi 6E was the best on the market, then I tell you that unfortunately it is no longer. In fact, this connectivity has not yet been officially launched by the Wi-Fi Alliance, but the Snapdragon company has gone one step further. But let’s go to the presentation.

Qualcomm’s new FastConnect 7800 chip is the first component in the world to have WiFi 7 (802.11be). Speed theoretical maximum reaches up to 5.8 Gbpswhich represents a 60% increase over the previous generation. Of course, WiFi 7 brings even less latency than the WiFi 6 and WiFi 6E with only 2 ms.

Another novelty that WiFi 7 brings is 4k QAM, with a channel bandwidth of 320 MHz, and multi-link capability. In turn, WiFi 7 offers the High Band Simultaneous (HBS) Multi-Link technology, which allows multiple simultaneous 5 GHz and/or 6 GHz connectionsand more.

On the other hand, the Qualcomm chip incorporates the new Bluetooth 5.3 standardwhich allows us to offer a superior audio thanks to the aptX Lossless codec. Sound quality is achieved thanks to Snapdragon Sound technology, Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) Audio and the boost of the Intelligent Dual Bluetooth for two premium audio streams.

What do we mean by the above? Dual Bluetooth means Lossless CD-quality wireless audio, more immersive gaming experiences, and better connections overall. Further, Bluetooth 5.3 offers 2x faster pairing while reducing power consumption by up to 50%.

An important element of the FastConnect 7800 chip is that allows the new Bluetooth and WiFi to maintain compatibility with previous generations.

This technology is expected to be commercially available during the second half of 2022. It is also very likely that we will see it in the future Snapdragon 8 second generation.

What do you think of the new chip Qualcomm FastConnect 7800?
