Qualcomm partners with Meta and Bose to create new experiences in the metaverse and strengthen its audio solutions

Qualcomm announced a new collaboration agreement with Meta and Bose, two companies with which it will work on joint projects for the development of the Metaverse and smart headphones, respectively.

The processor maker unveiled the partnership at the consumer electronics and technology show, IFA 2022, a space where brands such as LG, JBL and Samsung have already announced their products.

At a launch event hosted by the technology company on Friday, Qualcomm announced a multi-year agreement to collaborate with Meta for the development of the Meta Quest platform, which currently features Snapdragon XR2 chips.

Qualcomm also highlighted its “ongoing” collaboration with Bose, which plans to integrate new products developed with its chips into its catalog of new products, consisting of headphones, speakers and soundbars.

Specifically, Bose will integrate Qualcomm S5 audio SoCs in its future wireless devices, which feature high processing power and low power consumption.
