Qualcomm Brasil announced in recent days a collaboration with Americanet and RUCKUS (Commscope) to bring Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 technologies during the final stage of the 2023 Stock Car Pro Series season.
The race will take place this Sunday (17), at the Autódromo de Interlagos, in São Paulo. The public in the box and professionals in the press room will be able to experience wireless internet resources on the 6 GHz frequency. The VIP area will have wireless connectivity on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
Wi-Fi 6E offers speed rates between 1.5 Gbps and 2 Gbps for compatible cell phones. Wi-Fi 7 allows downloads of around 4 Gbps. Both technologies are considered ideal for this type of demand, in places with many users, such as race tracks, stadiums, shopping malls, schools, public parks, airports and bus or metro stations.
“Qualcomm Brasil is proud to integrate initiatives that promote innovation, bringing connectivity to more people, with higher quality and enabling new applications.”
Matthias Hamilton
Director and Product Manager at Qualcomm Brazil
Americanet will be responsible for providing the 10 Gbps internet access link, in the 6 GHz band. Commscope will be responsible for the Ruckus R560, R760 and R770 equipment – the latter debuting in Brazil –, which use Qualcomm Networking platforms Pro 610 and 1210 Wi-Fi 6E and Qualcomm Networking Pro 820 Wi-Fi 7.
“Stock Car has acted as a platform for the development of innovative projects, which are providing advanced and differentiated experiences for fans, sponsors and teams, transforming motorsport into a driver of technological advancement.”
Enzo Bortoleto
CEO from Audacetech
This is not the first connectivity initiative at Stock Car. The Brazilian motorsport category has already been the stage for experiments with the 5G network in previous seasons.
