Quadia/Banque Degroof Petercam: the fund d’impact reussit sa sortie de Sofi Groupe

The stake in the French refurbished electronics company was sold to the European digital group Econocom.

As announced recently, the Regenero impact fund managed by Quadia in cooperation with Bank Degroof Petercam has sold its stake in the French company of refurbished electronic products, Sofi Groupe, to the European digital group Econocom.

Sofi Groupe has been able to bring out another vision, more committed and more regenerating of the smartphone reconditioning sector in France.

Designed from the outset around the principles of the circular economy, the activity of Sofi Groupe contributes structurally to avoiding the waste of resources through an original industrial model which allows it to process any type of device regardless of its brand. or his condition. For example, in 2021, 95% of the materials used (telephones, spare parts, cardboard packaging) came from the circular circuit, reuse or recycling and therefore not from the extraction of primary materials. Sofi Groupe thus saved 4,594 tonnes of materials by extending the life of the devices sold. In fact, 82% of the phones purchased by the company have been repaired and sold, particularly remarkable figures compared to other refurbishers.

This environmental commitment, beyond industry standards, has increased further over the past two years: 75% increase in the share of purchases of used telephones and spare parts from France, consumption of 100% renewable electricity or even 40% reduction in water consumption. These changes illustrate the acceleration of Sofi Groupe’s positioning towards a more resilient and sustainable business model, bringing real economic benefits.

The ISO 14001 environmental and social labeling, the sector work carried out with the ADEME as well as the commitment to the return to employment of people who were far from it testify to the systemic nature of the impact strategy carried out by Sofi Groupe which has naturally become a company with a mission in order to promote the following raison d’être: “actively contributing to the extension of the lifespan of electrical and electronic equipment, Sofi Groupe is committed to developing an innovative, meaningful and creative industry. circular economy values.”
