The Saint-Hyacinthe Gaulois forward will continue his career with the Moncton Wildcats. It was owner Robert Irving who revealed the choice of the Wildcats. Caleb is the brother of Elliot who made his NHL debut last February with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Desnoyers had 53 points in 42 games and added 23 in 15 playoff games.
His teammate Émile Guité was selected in 2e rank by the Saguenéens of Chicoutimi. It’s the first time in history that two teammates come out at the top two in the same year.
With a collection of 13 points, Guité was selected MVP at the U18AAA national championship presented in Saint-Hyacinthe.
Au 3e rank, the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada opted for forward Mateo Nobert from the Lac St-Louis Lions. Betting on four picks in the Top 8, the Saguenéens then chose forward Nathan Lecompte of the Châteauguay Grenadiers and defender Alex Huang of the Sainte-Eustache Vikings with picks 4 and 5.
Transaction majeure
Talking to 6e rank, the Drummondville Voltigeurs have traded with the Sherbrooke Phoenix to get their hands on forward Ethan Gauthier. He will join his father Denis Gauthier in Drummondville.
The Phoenix gets 1 pickstime round in 2023, 2024 and 2025; two selections of 2e round of 2024; and a choice of 3e round the 2023.
In addition to Gauthier, the Voltigeurs receive a 4th round pick this year.
