QHD+, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, X2 telephoto lens… it has all the trappings of a Pro

OnePlus unveils its new flagship, the OnePlus 11. It relies on uncompromising performance, a QHD+ screen, a premium design and a photo configuration integrating an X2 telephoto lens specialized in portraits.

OnePlus opens the ball high-end smartphones for 2023 with its OnePlus 11 announced alongside the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. We already knew this thanks to the communication of the Chinese group on its social networks, this smartphone 5G does not come with a Pro version.

The OnePlus 10 in a better finish

Without wanting to invoke an overused cliché, the OnePlus 11 really makes a change in continuity. It retains much of the design of the OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro with this photo block as cut on the upper edge and which grips the side of the phone and flows to the frame, in one piece. In passing all the same, OnePlus makes a small refinement. The photo modules, instead of being “posed” simply on the block, lodge this time in a circle slightly nicknamed “ Black Hole (black hole in French). The latter adopts a chrome finish on stainless steel.

For the rest, it’s your classic high-end Android smartphone with an edge-to-edge screen, punch-hole top left of the display, and a glass back (without Gorilla Glass). Small originality specific to the brand, the Alert Sliderhoused in the frame at the level of the photo block, continues its journey following being removed from the OnePlus 10T. As a reminder, this is a sliding button with three options: sound activated, vibrate, silent. Convenient for analog lovers.

On the performance, no bad surprise

OnePlus has always been able to position itself as a brand that highlights the performance of its devices. For them, it still happens that the photo is not the most beautiful on the market, but their cameras must always work like a charm.

This should be the case for this OnePlus 11 since it integrates, unsurprisingly, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Broadly speaking, this provides a performance grain of 35% for the CPU and 25% for the GPU. It is accompanied by up to 16 GB of RAM, all the same.

The Oled screen is of the same ilk. 2K definition (including QHD+) with 120 Hz refresh. The LTPO 3.0 is included, which should help save a little autonomy. All for a size of 6.7 inches, which should be more than enough to take full advantage of all these qualities.

To finish on what’s under the hood, let’s add that we find once more a 5000 mAh battery and that the SuperVOOC charge goes to 100 W.

La touche Hasselblad

While all the competition is using one-inch or 200-megapixel sensors, OnePlus is playing it sober and pulling out a 50-megapixel 1/1.56-type IMX 890 for its main camera.

The device incorporates two other modules, an ultra wide-angle (IMX 581 in 48 megapixels) and a x2 telephoto lens dedicated to portraits (IMX 709 of 32 megapixels). The latter benefits from a technology« d’identification multispectrale »with 13 channels, supposed to help him“cover all photographic scenarios”. As has been the case since the OnePlus 9, Hasselblad animates everything.

Released in February

After its announcement in China, the OnePlus 11 will be available on the French market on February 7, 2023. It should therefore align with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S23. In the end, only the price is missing. As an indication, it is sold in China from 3999 yuan, or 545 euros excluding tax for the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage configuration and goes up to 4899 yuan, or 670 euros excluding tax for the best-equipped 16 GB version. of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
