Doha – It is reported that first class seats will be removed from Qatar Airways’ new long-haul flights. Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways stated in an interview in Istanbul that the main reasons for avoiding are that more people are taking business class and the demand for first class seats has started to decrease because they have all the same facilities as in first classes.
Al Baker also pointed out that Qatar Airways’ specially designed Q Suite business class has more future than first class. Of the 25 planes ordered by Qatar Airways, the manufacturing company will deliver only 10 this year.
According to international media reports, Albaker also stated that there is no intention to include first class seats in new aircraft including Boeing 777-9S in the coming years.
Most airlines take different approaches when it comes to first class seats on long-haul flights. While some invest heavily, some other airlines invest more in business class. Therefore, the quality and facilities of business classes have improved significantly.
