Activity in the first half of 2023 was characterized by the large influx of tourists to Morocco, recording a significant increase of 92% compared to the same period last year. Also supported by the shift in the month of Ramadan, the consolidated turnover for the second quarter increased by 24% to 747 million dirhams. For the first half as a whole, consolidated sales amounted to 1,213 million dirhams, up 10%.
In terms of corporate financial statements, turnover stands at 1,114 million dirhams, up 10% over the half-year and at 697 million dirhams, up 21% during the second quarter.
INVESTMENTS
During the second quarter of 2023, the Group’s investments amounted to
88 MDH. This amount takes into account the acquisition of the goodwill of the “mineral water” distribution activity by the Euro Africaine des Eaux entity for an amount of 60 million dirhams prior to its final sale to the Mutandis Group. The other investments for the period mainly concern the renewal of the packaging fleet as well as investments aimed at improving the efficiency of the industrial tool within the Group.
FINANCIAL AND CASH POSITION
For the second quarter of 2023, Société des Boissons du Maroc recorded a net financial surplus of 319 million dirhams, compared to 761 million dirhams in the second quarter of the previous financial year. This change is attributed to the payment of dividends, which occurred during the first half of 2023, compared to a payment during the second half of 2022.
CONSOLIDATION SCOPE
The Société des Boissons du Maroc announced on July 10, 2023, the final completion of the sale of all the shares of the company Euro Africaine des Eaux to the company Distra of the Mutandis Group. Due to the effective date of this operation, the scope of consolidation at the end of the second quarter of 2023 remains unchanged compared to the end of 2022.
PERSPECTIVES
During the second half of the year, Société des Boissons du Maroc will continue to implement its strategic and operational initiatives to strengthen the efficiency of its industrial tool, consolidate its quality standards and support the dynamism of its commercial innovations.
