Pyrescom: near Perpignan, carbon dioxide sensors are also good for the job

The small company Pyrescom, in Canohès near Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), is not experiencing the crisis. Quite the contrary. This family establishment founded in 1986 saw its turnover jump from 11 (2020) to 16 million euros in 2021, thanks in particular to its production of CO2 sensors. The famous Class’Air product continuously analyzes the level of CO2 in a closed room. It warns of the immediate need to ventilate the room. This sensor is particularly indicated in schools.

“We have multiplied our deliveries of these sensors by seven in 2021. The demand is almost exponential. But our jump in turnover is also due to the strong demand for connected cabinets for defibrillators intended for establishments open to the public under a new obligation, explains Pauline Pontis, marketing manager of this company which now employs 80 people. people, ten more than at the end of 2019.

Only electronic components come from Asia

“To cope,” she continues, “we are launching work on a new building this year because we continue to hire. Most of the equipment we deliver is manufactured and assembled in our workshops or through local sourcing. The molded shells of our devices are, for example, produced near Céret (Pyrénées-Orientales). Only the electronic components come from Asia. “

The small company, still 100% family-owned, was created in 1986 by Robert Guichet and is today managed by his daughter Alice. Specialized in the processing and transmission of data, Pyrescom made a name for itself thanks to its connected badge readers before making various particularly relevant diversifications when the health crisis arrived. Schools are strongly encouraged by the state to equip themselves with CO2 sensors. A very large market has just opened up for the small company from Canohès.
