PRODUCER, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist PVRIS is set to enter a new era with the announcement of his latest EP project, FILTH.
The musician, whose real name is Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, kicked off her latest project by releasing a new single titled The Blob, which also features fellow singer-songwriter Lights.
The mixtape features some interesting collaborators such as Lights, Tommy Genesis, and Alice Longyu-Ga among others.
Lyndsey Gunnulfsen explained a bit regarding her upcoming mixtape project, “At its core, I just wanted to make a fun project with some really strong women in the music industry that I admire and love. I also wanted to create a space where we might all express whatever we wanted and experiment with directions or sounds. I also tried not to be too perfectionist with the process of making the mixtape, and just let it flow freely and have fun!”

However, Lyndsey also explained further that there was also another purpose for the creation of this mixtape project.
“On the other hand, I also have a goal to talk regarding the decade that I’ve been in this industry. We need to know that even though there are so many iconic and incredible female producers, writers, recording engineers out there, the quantity is still less than the men. And the comparison is very far,” she said.
“Out of probably hundreds of songwriting sessions or recording projects that I’ve been involved in, I can only remember writing songs with 20 female musicians, while on the music producer side, I’ve only met 10 female producers. Even from record labels, publishers to management, I see very few women in the industry,” Lindsey continued.
“I still don’t understand what people might be afraid of? We’re all here to have fun together, right? That’s what I experienced in this chapter of the project, trying to work almost exclusively with women to get the sense of fun that we all get to create together. Working on this project made me feel like a kid once more and it’s not stressful at all. I hope that this project can help facilitate that feeling for the other artists that I bring into the project. I don’t want this to be the only one that’s the most vocal on this project because there are so many strong women in this project who have a huge impact on the music, and that’s something that I want to try to continue and develop,” she concluded.
Currently, PVRIS is touring North America with Pale Waves and Bruses. Later this year, PVRIS will also tour with The Smashing Pumpkins. (Z-1)
